JYOTHIRLINGAS IN MADHYA PREDESH, JYOTHILINGAS ACCESSED FFROM SHIRDI,

HAI FRIENDS,

FIND BELOW THE MY VIEWS ON VISITING UJJIAN AND OMAKRESWAR  LINGAS FROM SHIRDI

From shirdi you can easily cover 2 jyothirlingas in madhyapradesh also in 2 days time.

There are many trains to Khandwa Junction  from Kopargan and Manmad. Most of trains to delhi pass through this station. Khandwa is  the ideal place for visiting  Omkareswar Jyothirlinga  and Mahakaleswar Jyothirlinga  in Ujjain.  Karnataka express from Bangalore pass through this station daily.   Khandwa is district head quarters, and omkareswar is located  60 Km form Khandwa, and Ujjain is another 110 KM from  omkareswar temple via Indore.  Prefer night trains from Manmed or Koparghan station enable you reach  Khandwa in early in the morning. Normally it takes 5 hrs train journey from Manmed station.  From khandwa there is passenger train to Ujjain  goes via Omkareswar road ( 15 Km form Temple) starts at 7 am in the morning and reaches omakarewar road by 8.30 AM.  Or otherwise catch a taxi from  Khandwa taxi stand to visit Omakreswar and Ujjain including local sight seeing. They will charge around Rs.2500  to Rs. 4000/- for trip. There are many temples enroute, hence negotiate well in advance. I had some bad experience  with this taxi wallas of Khandwa.  By taxi you can cover both  Jyothirlinga in a day time ( 6 am  to 6 PM) itself.

For visiting  these jyothirlingas the town Khandwa ( district headquarters) and Bhopal ( on Chennai to delhi route) are ideal place, beacuase there are very limited direct trains to Ujjain and Indore from south.
Karnataka express ( no 12627)  start at 7.20 PM at Bangalore reaches 7.30 PM next day runs on all days.
Kerala express ( no 12625) start at 8 PM and reaches Bhopal at 2.55 AM next day. There are many trains to Ujjain will take 3 t 3.1/2 hrs journey.

Also it is sacred island  shaped like the holi hindu symbol  OM . The linga  inside the temple looks like Ohm symbol.  Hence it is called omkareswar. olden periods we have go by boat only. After that  there is   bridge constructed and recently the new bridge BY  steel is contructed.  So you can approach the temple by walk.  There are many  purohits are running around you, you can  negotiate them with minimum Rs 50 to Rs. 100 per person for conducting pozzas and abishekam in gharpagraka.  Here you can  do abisheka by poering the water or milk through the  pipe provided  at the front side of linga.  Normally there is no rush in this temple.  Hence you can have very comfortable darhasn here, they wil permit you take photos and videos of  jyothrlinga here.
